Are your products suitable for all skin types?

Our skincare products are designed to cater to a variety of skin types. The natural ingredients used in our formulations are generally well-tolerated, but we recommend conducting a patch test prior to full application to ensure compatibility with your skin.

Do your soaps use lye?

Yes. All true soap is made using lye (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide). During the soapmaking process, lye reacts with oils in a chemical reaction called saponification. This reaction transforms the oils and lye into soap and naturally occurring glycerin.

You may see some retailers advertise “lye-free” soap. In many cases, these products are made using pre-made soap bases that were already created with lye during manufacturing. The soapmaker simply melts and reshapes the base.

In handcrafted soapmaking, the oils and lye are combined directly to create fresh soap. Once saponification is complete, no lye remains in the finished bar, only soap! :)
